Success as YMCA and Radio Wave take on the 3 Peaks Challenge

On Saturday 8th September, 14 YMCA staff alongside Scott and Holly from Radio Wave took on the National 3 Peaks Challenge in 24 hours to raise funds for our Changing Young Lives Appeal. Our team of staff from YMCA Thornton, YMCA Housing, YMCA Lakeside and Central support trained hard to prepare to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.

The team walked 23 miles (37km), climbing 3064 metres and driving 462 miles within 24 hours. A massive well done to everyone involved as this was a mammoth challenge and all participants were pushed to their physical limit. This challenge is usually completed in 3 days so this is an incredible achievement for everyone involved. Well done again guys!

There is still chance to support the team by sponsoring them on JustGiving by clicking here
