Sport Relief is returning from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th March and there are more ways than ever for you to take part, feel proud and helps us change and enhance lives. YMCA Fylde Coast will make this a little easier for you to get involved by hosting a variety of fundraising events and activities for all the family to come along and enjoy.
We are delighted to be once again celebrating Sport Relief 2016 by hosting the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile at YMCA Thornton on 20th March at 11:30am. The Mile will loop around King George’s Playing Fields and sets to be an action packed event. Simply sign up online here to enter the Thornton YMCA Mile.
We are also excited to be making a splash by hosting Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Swimathon events at both YMCA Fleetwood and YMCA Kirkham Rural Splash between 18th – 20th March. To enter YMCA Fleetwood’s Swimathon please sign up here and for YMCA Kirkham’s please enter here.
If you can’t make it to either of our organised Swimathon events, you can choose to do your own distance at any time between 11th March and 30th April 2016, with SimplySwim.
Our Rookie Lifeguards (aged 7-14 years) will also be fundraising for Sport Relief by taking part in a sponsored “Tow A Mile” event. Please help us raise money for Sport Relief by sponsoring one of our Rookie Lifeguards via our Just Giving Page.
Alongside sporting challenges there will be fundraising bake sales and our biggest ever raffle draw with some amazing prizes which have been kindly donated by local businesses. Raffle tickets are available at all your local YMCA Health & Fitness Centres.
Please see our Sport Relief 2016 timetable for times and dates of all our Sport Relief activities.
Whether you get sponsored to walk, run or swim at the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief events or fundraise with friends and family at home, work or school you’ll help people living incredibly tough lives.
In fact, half of all the money raised by the public is spent right here at home in the UK, with the other half used to make a difference in the world’s most deprived communities.
