Kaitlyn Young Citizen Award
Young resident Kaitlyn has been nominated for The High Sheriff of Lancashire’s Young Citizen Award 2023

Kaitlyn is one of our young residents at YMCA Foyer, Fleetwood, where we house young people aged 16-25. YMCA Foyer is one of our housing services with support to ensure a secure and steady living space for our youth. Ensuring, we equip them with essential skills necessary for their future success, and preparing them for a bright future.

The Young Citizen Awards are there to recognise the amazing work of young people across Lancashire who put others first.

Lancashire’s High Sheriff, Martin Ainscough said “I am really looking forward to reading the nominations and the stories about how young people in Lancashire are taking responsibility for the welfare of others and proving themselves worthy of recognition.

“The Lancashire Young Citizen of the year Award is a wonderful opportunity to reward and appreciate the extraordinary work that so many young people do throughout the county to help others and reduce crime.”

The awards take place yearly, to find a young person who has helped either their local neighbourhood, an individual, family member or local organisation.

This years’ awards take place Wednesday 22nd March at Lancashire Constabulary Headquarters. The winner will receive £500, while the two runners-up will get £100 each.

We wish you all the best in the final, Kaitlyn!
