We are delighted to announce that YMCA Fylde Coast have approved a £215k investment into the refurbishment of the gym at YMCA St Annes on St Alban’s Road.
As a result of the refurbishment, the free weights section of the gym will be extended, improvements will be made to the air conditioning and new equipment will be installed. The centre will see the inclusion of the latest generation of cardio equipment and technology from Life Fitness. We will have everything you expect and more, all including the new digital fitness experience (LFConnect). The new equipment will introduce NEW Lifescape where the world is your workout. Immerse yourself and cycle in France’s Col de la Colombiere or run through California’s Trinity Mountains.
Plus….Strengthen, tone and sculpt your body with the assistance of state-of-the-art resistance machines.
But that’s not all….YMCA St Annes will bring you the latest state of the art SYNRGY360 training system, powered by Life Fitness, where you can supercharge your workout with this exciting new addition. With multiple stations integrated into the equipment, YMCA St Annes will soon be able to offer a programme of motivational group personal training sessions. This versatile functional equipment provides the setting for a new social, energised dynamic, designed to keep you interested and focused with exercises modified to your personal fitness levels.
Also….Dedicated space will mean you can make the most out of the extensive selection of free weights powered by Hammer Strength, including dumbbells (2kg-40kg), Smith Machine, Dual Action Pulleys, barbells and plate loaded iso-lateral machines. YMCA St Annes will join an elite club and will be officially branded as a ‘Hammer Strength Performance Suite’ by Life Fitness and Hammer Strength.
YMCA St Annes as a centre will continue to operate and remain open during the refurbishment.
However, in order to ensure that the refurbishment is completed safely, efficiently and with minimum disruption to our members and users, there are some essential works that need to take place. In order to facilitate the refurbishment, the gym will unfortunately have to close for a period of approximately three weeks. During this period, the remainder of the centre will operate as normal and the class timetable will not be affected, allowing you to still enjoy the full benefits of our range of group exercise classes. We are even putting on extra classes and activities during this temporary period of closure. Here are the key dates for your diary:
Monday 21st November 2016 – Gym will fully close
Sunday 11th December 2016 – Exclusive Member Taster Day (10am-4pm)
Monday 12th December 2016 – Gym will fully re-open
Please note, these dates are just a guideline and as we plan to adhere to these as much as possible, there could be some slight changes. We will of course do our utmost to keep you fully updated online via this website, via announcements on centre notice boards at YMCA St Annes and via our Facebook page at ‘St Annes YMCA Official.’
Your YMCA Membership
One of the great things about your YMCA membership is that it includes access to all YMCA Health and Fitness Centres on the Fylde Coast. Therefore, during our temporary closure period, you will have the ability to continue to use your membership to workout and enjoy the facilities at your closest YMCA gyms and pools at St Annes Promenade and Lytham, including classes and racquet sports. It’s a great opportunity to try something new too with different activities available for everyone. Please check online for a full list of activities via www.ymcayactive.org/timetables.
The gym at YMCA Lytham has just received a £190k makeover of its own and is now fully open. The centre boasts new state-of-the-art Life Fitness and functional training equipment, in addition to an extensive range of resistance machines and free weights. For more information, please click here
Don’t forget…..if you are not a member, you can download a one day free pass worth £15 to use at any of our facilities. Visit ymcayactive.org/vouchers and download today!
Even though this is an exciting time and the refurbishment is undoubtedly a massive boost for the whole community, we know the short term situation isn’t ideal and we really do appreciate your continued support and co-operation during this time. As a charity, we reinvest back into the community. You are helping us to continually improve and develop our YMCA health, fitness and leisure facilities. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. Please email any questions you may have to Gareth Fegan, General Manager at gareth.fegan@fyldecoastymca.org
