We are delighted to announce that YMCA Fleetwood have been awarded a grant to provide free swimming for children throughout the summer holidays.
The grant has been made possible by Councillor Lorraine Beavers and Councillor Ron Shewan through the County Councillors’ Local Member Grant Scheme. The scheme enables councillors to support local voluntary and community sector groups in providing a variety of community activities within their electoral divisions.
Free indoor swimming is available during public swimming sessions (view our timetable here) for children aged 16 and under until 4th September 2016. Proof of residency at an FY7 postcode is required e.g. recent utility bill or driving licence.
Any children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian aged 18 or over at a ratio of 2:1 as per normal swimming.
All children wishing to take part in the free sessions must complete a registration form before participating. Forms are available from YMCA Fleetwood. In order to gain entry, all forms must be signed by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.
All children entering free swimming will be given a membership card which they must bring every time they wish to swim for free. Without this card they will not be allowed into the pools until their parent or guardian completes another registration form.
Free swimming will operate exactly as a paid session and therefore does not include fun swims, holiday activities or entry to Marine Splash.
Our maximum bather loads will be adhered to. Due to the expectancy that the centre will be busy you may find that you will need to wait before being allowed entry to the pools.
Please note that our existing operating procedures cannot be altered.
We hope you make the most of this wonderful opportunity at YMCA Fleetwood! We look forward to seeing you there!
