February saw the annual charity spin sessions, hosted by Dave Sweetman at YMCA Garstang
Last month over £1300 was raised in aid of Garstang First Responders and Garstang Christmas Lights, with £1000 and £300 going to each charity respectively.
The spin compromises of a 90 minute session with each rider paying £25 for their bike. With an amazing response, the bikes sold out instantly and another 90 minute session was organised straight after. In total, 40 bikes were sold, with riders (and non-riders) donating extra cash towards the cause.
Dave Sweetman, general manager at YMCA Garstang said “the response was absolutely outstanding, the classes went really well, with riders surprised how quickly it went”. Dave has helped organise the Charity Spin for the past 2 years now, and each time there’s been an amazing response in aid of some really good causes.
A special mention goes to Dave Sweetman, Elizabeth Webster, Ann Boardman, and Dawn Painter for their efforts in organising and raising over £1300.
