Y: Sports Festival Brings Community Together for a Day of Sport

YMCA Fylde Coast and the YMCA Your Move team would like to thank everyone involved in our Y: Sports Festival day on Saturday 25th August at Park View 4U in Lytham.

Continuing from the amazing work of the original Lytham Sports Festival organisers we wanted to make sure we carried on their amazing work! We were glad we were able to bring loads of free activities to Lytham and see everyone get moving! Thank you to Park View 4U, all the partners, sports clubs, volunteers and helpers that made the day such a great success! The day was filled with smiles and of course some glorious sunshine. Activities the day included zumba, rounders, netball, archery, BMX biking, football, fitness pilates and much more!

We wanted to continue the theme from the previous 2 years that the annual event has been running by the motto….

Get Fit | Get Healthy | Get Outside

Our aim was to continue to:

  • Hold annual multi-sports events in Lytham to include various local sports clubs & community groups
  • Encourage children and adults to take part or have a go at new sports
  • Increase public participation in exercise to improve health in the region

There was all sorts going on at Park View 4U on the day. Here are some memories from the day
