We are delighted to hear the news from the government and we are sure you were just as excited! Thank you so much for your continued support and good wishes over the past weeks and months – we look forward to seeing you back in the centres very soon.

As our phones are not manned at present, we will be sending out emails, updates through the YMCA Y:Active Lifestyles app and will be keeping our website up to date with everything members will need to know.

In adherence with government guidelines, we are looking forward to start welcoming you back. As always, the health, safety and well-being of our members, users and staff teams is our first priority and we are confident that our centres are ready to open safely. Our focus is on ensuring we have safe, hygienic facilities, whilst giving you plenty of space to use.

  • Your Membership Matters
    Your Membership Matters
  • Community is as important as ever right now and as a charity (Reg charity no. 1074571), we rely on the amazing support of members.
  • We rely heavily on mixed funding models, from donations and legacies, to membership fees and room rentals to assist with our charitable work in local communities. The YMCA continues to work tirelessly across communities to encourage people at all levels, regardless of their age, background or level of ability to become physically active whether through individual health and fitness programmes or through increasing their uptake of organised sports.
  • We value your loyalty and the YMCA only exists in the communities due to your continued support. Without our valued members we would not be able to operate, thank you!
  • If you would like to donate to us and assist our work, including helping the future of sporting facilities locally, you can voluntarily request to keep your monthly membership payments at the same price or if you are an annual member, you can keep your original renewal date. If you would like to do this, please email enquiries@fyldecoastymca.org

When will the pools at Fleetwood, Garstang & Poulton open?
We are continuing to work tirelessly with our partners as we recognise that being physically active is such an important part of health, wellbeing and daily lifestyle. We can assure you we are doing all we can and working hard with our partners to facilitate the re-opening of the pools at YMCA Fleetwood, YMCA Garstang and YMCA Poulton as soon as we are able to, when we are sure it is viable to do so. Our primary objective for physical activity continues to be focused on providing health, leisure, and fitness for all the communities we serve.

When will your other services re-open e.g. creche, Harry's, Gymnastics, YMCA Bowl, Air Skate, Spa on the Breck?
In the latest easing of restrictions, some of the services we provide were not in the list at present and therefore have to remain closed. This includes YMCA Bowl and most of the services offered at Spa on the Breck. We take the safety of our members and users as paramount, therefore the practicalities on managing numbers in the centre, government guidelines surrounding childcare and other services means some of these services will take a little longer to resume than first thought. Our goal is to ensure they resume as quickly as possible when it is safe and viable to do so.

When you reactivate adult, teen and family monthly rolling memberships on 25 July, when will be the first payment?
If you haven't requested for your membership to continue be frozen, the first payment at the discounted rate will be 1st August. We will contact you regarding this

Will you be opening the sauna and steam room at YMCA St Annes?
For the time being, unfortunately not. Government restrictions are still in place for saunas and steam rooms. The same applies for Spa on the Breck. As and when we are allowed we look to open these if it is viable to do so.

I paid for some products and services before the centres closed?
This applies to personal training and spa sessions. Our plan is to extend the expiry date of your vouchers/sessions and all other prepaid products and services until after the centres reopen.

How are you going to ensure cleaning of equipment?
Every staff team member will be expected to complete a Covid-19 workshop and training course, including a new site induction. This will provide them with the information and training necessary to ensure they are fulfilling their obligations to keep themselves, our members and our teams as safe as possible. We will be supplying the teams with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as viricidal solutions and sanitisers, that kill viruses such as Covid-19 in just 60 seconds. The timetable has been designed to leave enough time between classes for us to clean any kit, ready for the next class. Please be aware that you need to help us by also cleaning your equipment before and after use and abiding by our code of conduct in the section below. Please note that some centres may require you to bring your own mats.

What will I need when I come for my class?
Please arrive at the centre in the clothes you will be working out in as the some changing rooms and showers will not be open at this time.

To avoid any disappointment please pre-book your class online with the current booking procedures via the YMCA Y:Active Lifestyles app or via contacting your local YMCA Health and Fitness Centre.

We are awaiting confirmation from public health as to what this may be. All classes must be pre-booked via the app or by contacting the centre direct. Classes will not be ‘back to back’. This will allow time for staff to ensure that the room and any equipment is cleaned thoroughly after each class, using a viricidal solutions, ensuring that everything is as hygienically safe as possible. Workout areas will be spaced out appropriately, ready for the class, so members will have a clear designated area. Once in the classes, please abide by our member/user code of conduct to keep everyone safe.

How are you going to ensure social distancing in the gym?
The beauty about our centres is that we have the space to accommodate the gym whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines. It will not all be in one room as before, so it may look and feel a little different initially. We will therefore not be removing any pieces of equipment, as we have the space in the centres to accommodate all of our pieces of kit. Please abide by our code of conduct (see below) and wipe down the bikes pre and post workout with the disposable towels provided and NOT with your own towel.
