YMCA Fylde Coast celebrates record numbers on youth development scheme

Almost 200 young people from across the Fylde Coast helped to raise more than £10,000 for local charities in an epic summertime project.The NCS 2018 scheme, run by YMCA Fylde Coast, is a youth movement for teenagers aged 15-17 to discover who they are and what they can do.

Success as YMCA and Radio Wave take on the 3 Peaks Challenge

On Saturday 8th September, 14 YMCA staff alongside Scott and Holly from Radio Wave took on the National 3 Peaks Challenge in 24 hours to raise funds for our Changing Young Lives Appeal. Our team of staff from YMCA Thornton, YMCA Housing, YMCA Lakeside and Central support trained hard to prepare to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.

The Radio Wave Culture and Lifestyle Awards returned  in 2018 to the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens on Friday 8th June.

Lucy’s Sportivate Success

In February 2017 our Your Move Community Sport Activator and Y:Women Can Coordinator were given a fantastic opportunity to help the young women of the Fylde Coast get active. With the help of funding from Lancashire Sport and the Sportivate project, Your Move was tasked with giving young and inactive girls the opportunity to use the YMCA Fylde Coast fantastic leisure facilities for free for two months.
