#KeepLovingLeisure

YMCA Fylde Coast has joined up with other local leisure providers to encourage local communities to ‘Keep Loving Leisure’ as our leisure centres start to reopen as part of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown.

#KeepLovingLeisure is a campaign led by Lancashire’s leisure providers and Active Lancashire with a goal of celebrating our leisure industry.

Working with numerous leisure providers throughout Lancashire, including Burnley, Blackpool, Lancaster, Pendle, Rossendale, Ribble Valley, Chorley and Hyndburn, the campaign focuses on three key messages:

Poulton YMCA to be used for lateral flow testing

Lateral flow coronavirus testing is set to move from YMCA Thornton Leisure Centre to YMCA Poulton Leisure Centre.

This facility is for symptom free workers who have to leave home to work. The centre at Poulton will open for lateral flow testing from 12th April.

On 12 April Thornton Leisure Centre will reopen, alongside the centre at Garstang. This will be followed by the reopening of Fleetwood Leisure Centre including the pool, and the pool at Garstang on 1 May.

Wyre’s leisure centres set to reopen

We are pleased to announce that our bid for the Government’s National Leisure Recovery Fund has been successful, resulting in a £220,000 grant.

This money, in addition to the £1 million of additional funding provided by the council, means that leisure centres across the borough can begin to reopen soon.

Launched earlier this year by Sport England, the fund was made available for public sector leisure centres to give them the best chance of recovery once restrictions are lifted.
