Our annual festive burn off at YMCA Poulton has spread its wings for 2015 and is taking place across the whole New Year weekend with a second event at YMCA Thornton too!

Contract Success for YMCA Fylde Coast

New Momenta Contract

YMCA Fylde Coast working in partnership with adult weight management experts ‘Momenta’ have been successful in securing a contract to operate a Tier 2 lifestyle weight management service across North Lancashire.

The contract award will see the YMCA and Momenta working in partnership with Lancashire County Council’s Public Health Team to deliver the service in Fylde, Wyre and Lancaster with a specific focus on targeting areas of high need.

The partners will deliver a multi-component behavioural intervention service focused on nutrition and physical activity, supporting individuals aged 18+ to lose weight and maintain weight loss. The […]

Santa Dash – Sunday 7th December
Run, jog or walk from the Sandcastle to Central Pier and back, dressed as Santa to help us raise funds for Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice.

These Girls Do… YMCA Members on Overcoming their Fears

Sport England recently launched their ‘This Girl Can’ campaign to celebrate those who already lead active lifestyles and to empower other women to join them.

The campaign is backed up by Sport England research which found 75% of women aged 14 – 40 years old want to be more active but that there are common reasons why women are stopping themselves from exercising.
