YMCA Fleetwood are holding their first ever family Aquathlon Swim and Run Challenge on Thursday 31st December 2015.

The team are hoping for a great turnout of participants and spectators to mark the end of 2015 at the centre with a splash.

This year’s Aquathlon has also been listed on the Go Tri website meaning the event meets the required safety standards and has received a Triathlon England event permit.

Drop n Shop or Drop n Spa? You Know You Need it!

Stressful Shopping

YMCA are helping take the stress out of shopping during this busy time with drop and shop services for youngsters age 8+ at YMCA Poulton and YMCA Garstang Swimming Centre ages 2 – 9 at Harry’s Soft Play centre in St Annes.

Sessions for age 8+ at Poulton and Garstang on Christmas Eve cost just £6.50 and will run from 9am to midday. Includes festive fun swims, games and refreshments.

YMCA Fleetwood – Customer Update Tuesday 15th December

We are hopeful that both swimming pools at YMCA Fleetwood will be re-opening on Wednesday 16th December.

The sports hall and high performance weights area continue to be open as normal, along with the class programme.

8 years ago at the age of 37, Julie Brown (now 45) of St Annes was suffering with tingling pains and sensations through her arms. The sharp pains she recalls would take her breath away.

An MRI scan revealed there was a growth at the top of Julie’s spinal chord and she was referred to a Neurosurgeon at Preston who diagnosed the growth as a Cavernoma, which is a cluster of abnormal blood vessels typically found in the brain or spinal chord. A cavernoma looks a little like a blackberry.
