A typical Power Plate session programme consists of 5 easy stages to follow:
- Movement Preparation –
The essential way to prepare for any workout, reducing muscle stiffness and risk of injury through appropriate stretching exercises. - Circuit One – Lower Body
A programme of exercises to enhance the lower body through simple balance and strength techniques. - Circuit Two – Upper Body
A programme of exercises to enhance the upper body through simple balance and strength techniques. - Circuit Three – Core
A programme of exercises to enhance your torso area through simple core strengthening techniques. - Massage and Relaxation
The essential way to complete your workout through some simple massage and relaxation exercises. Dissolve lactic acid, reduce the potential for delayed muscle soreness and reduce cellulite.
Tips on Getting Started
Starting anything for the first time can be daunting, but with guaranteed results it’s definitely worth giving Power Plates a go!
We recommend a 25 – 30 minute session, 2 – 3 times a week. If you are new to exercise or the equipment, we recommend starting at the lowest machine settings progressively increasing the settings as your fitness level improves.
- Speak to a YMCA Fitness Instructor so they can assist you in getting the most out of your Power Plate sessions.
- Review some example exercises.
- Ensure you have liquids with you so you can keep hydrated while training.
- Insert your Power Plate Tokens.
- Positioning on the machine is important. Use the handlebars for balance and support while bending your knees during your session.
- Follow the simple instructions on the LCD screen.
