Kick, Punch… First of the Month!
Due to the success of our Turkey Burn Off Weekender earlier this month (pictured above), we’re hosting another free Class Blast event this Sunday at YMCA Thornton.
So if your new year’s resolutions are already starting to look like a distant memory… get them back in your sights and Blast Off into February 2015!
We’ve got 6 back to back 30 minute classes planned for this Sunday 1st February, kicking off at 9am and ending at 12noon.

Fleetwood Town Football Club’s squad have been training in YMCAs now during the last two seasons and for Youl Mawene, the club’s sports science coach, YMCA offer the perfect mix of facilities to help him achieve his goal.
Youl, former professional player for Preston North End and Derby County, joined Fleetwood Town as centre back in 2012. At the end of his last season in 2013 the club renewed his contract and appointed him as head coach for the teams.

Put your mind, body and spirit to the test this month with brand new Yogathon and Spinathon fundraising challenges.
And don’t worry if you’re new to Yoga or Spinning or both. Each weekend event, taking place at YMCA St Annes on St Albans Rd, has got beginner sessions included and friendly YMCA instructors to help too.
The first Yogathon, which is raising funds for the AKS Cricket Tour to Sri Lanka, is this Saturday 24th January starting at midday.

GPs, health professionals and other service providers in Wyre, Fylde and North Lancashire can now refer adults with a body mass index of 25 or over for free weight management support. And in the joint fight to tackle obesity, residents can also refer themselves for a place on the programme too.
The new Y:Weight programme, funded by Lancashire County Council and delivered by YMCA in community venues across the boroughs, is specially designed to help adults lose weight and provide them with the advice and guidance to go on and manage their weight for life.
