It’s National Fitness Day on Friday 26th September and your YMCA’s have joined forces with ukactive to celebrate physical activity in the UK.
So we’ve compiled a programme of free classes and activities to give you, your friends and family the chance to get moving and try something new this Autumn.
And according to ukactive research if you exercise in company you are more likely to stick at it due to the social atmosphere and camaraderie which creates a positive atmosphere and importantly helps us to have fun.
So what’s the FREE #Fitnessday Programme?
It is officially the season of change. The teams at your local YMCAs are making it even easier for you to improve your health and make lifestyle changes for good with brand new additions for members and non-members too.
Now an official Spinning Centre, YMCA St Annes on St Albans Rd have launched a brand new Spinning programme to complement the already extensive timetable of fitness and relaxation classes.

Following a £59,308 funding boost to transform the changing and shower facilities at YMCA Rural Splash Kirkham, the centre’s pool has re-opened this week with the 4 week re-development project unveiled for the first time.
Kirkham Baths, originally built in 1914 at the bequest of local JP William Segar Hodgson to help rehabilitate wounded soldiers, received the early 100th birthday present after a successful bid to Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Fund for £48,308 of National Lottery funding along with additional investment from YMCA of £11,000.
